Home › Forums › Uniform Swap & Sell › A Jamaican Cockney Tale: Why Retro Armchairs Still Matter
Been in London from di forties, seen it all. When it come to seat, mi know what last. We only could afford old sofa, but dat armchair keep we warm. Dem no see value in scratch and scar. Go down to Camden, vintage wingback smell of years. Dem tings not showroom clean, but dem live long. Back in de day, Armchair pass from father to son. Dat’s why mi love vintage. Mi and brethren Lennox find one old Chesterfield in Dalston, but Beer spill, children jump, reggae shake wall.
Mi can hear di spring creak when man drop heavy. London borough different style. Kensington love velvet, wid plush sofa. Shoreditch wild, 365.expresso.blog wid retro chair mash-up. Modern flat-pack? Dem got no memory. Retro sofa last long. Call it what you like, mi always choose retro over new. When you tempted by showroom, stop an look round, and watch it age same way as you.
